Prof. Alexander Frumkin, noted Russian Jewish chemist, was honored here today by the Academy of Science of the USSR at a special session dedicated to the celebration of his 50th birthday.
Prof. Frumkin is at present the director of the Academy’s Physiochemical Institute. He has held many responsible positions during his scientific career which began in 1922. Frumkin has been awarded the Order of Lenin, two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor and the Stalin prize. He is a member of the presidium of the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee.
