Professor Alfred Stern, noted historian, died here Monday at the age of 90. Born in Gottingen, Germany, he joined the University of Berne faculty in 1873 and in 1877 he was appointed to a professorship at the Zurich Technical Institute. Among his works are, “A History of the English Revolution;” “Milton and His Times;” “History of Europe, 1815–1871;” “A History of Switzerland” and a life of Mirabeau. Prof. Stern also contributed to the Journal of the History of Jews in Germany, published since 1929.
