Professor Felix Frankfurter of Harvard Law School was among 14 new members elected to the board of director of the American Friends of the Hebrew University at its annual meeting in New York Wednesday, it was announced today by Dr. A.S.W. Rosenbach, who was reelected president. Other new member include Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver, Dr. Julian Morgenstern, Mrs. Moses P. Epstein, Rabbi Solomon Goldman, Dr. Ben M. Selekman, Boston; Judge Marcus C. Sloss, San Francisco; and Henry Wineman, Detoit.
Mrs. Frieda Schiff Warburg, wife of the late Felix M. Warburg, who played a leading role in the founding of the Hebrew University, was elected honorary president of the American Friends; Edward M.M. Warburg, son of Mr. Warburg, chairman of the executive committee. Dr.Nathan Rathnoff, associate chairman, and Arthur M. Lamport, vice president.
The meeting adopted a resolution to strengthen “efforts in behalf of the University to enable it to receive more Jewish scholars and students of Europe barred from their own universities and exiled from their native lands.”
