Prof. Guido Adler, Famous Music Historian, Retires

Professor Guide Adler, Professor of the History of Music at Vienna University and one of the most famous authorities on this subject, has just retired on attaining the age limit.

Professor Adler, who is 72 years of age, is one of the best known figures at musical congresses. He was one of the founders of the “Quarterly for Musical Study.” His books, among them “Style in Music,” “Methods of Musical History” and “The Handbook of Musical Knowledge,” are known to musicians everywhere.

Professor Adler belongs to one of the leading Jewish families in Vianna and is an observant Jew.

Morris H. Rothschild, cotton broker, who died Friday, left his entire estate in trust to his widow, Mrs. Emily B. Rothschild. by the terms of his will filed for probate yesterday.

His estate will not exceed $1,000,000, according to Dr. Marcus A. Rothschild, his son. At the death of his mother he and his sister, Mrs. Bertha Elsas, of Atlanta. Ga. will receive the principal of the estate.
