Prof. Solomon Zeitlin of Dropsie College, Philadelphia, lecturing at the Hebrew University here, questioned the authenticity of the scrolls discovered some time age in the Dead Sea area, among which one is said to be the original manuscript of the prophet Isaiah.
“There is no direct archeological evidence to support the pre-Christian character of the scrolls,” Prof. Zetlin, noted expert in the field of Semitics, told the audience which consisted of members of the academic staff of the Hebrew University and of noted Jewish and Christian scholars. His lecture provoked a serious discussion.
