Transport Minister Haim Corfu told the Cabinet Sunday he will propose legislation to make the use of seat belts mandatory for drivers in city streets as part of a campaign to reduce traffic deaths and injuries. Corfu said he would try to get the measure through the Knesset Economics Committee for a six-month trial and hoped it would become law by November 1.
