Prospects for large-scale commercial activity between Israel and Turkey were described today as “very satisfactory” by Harry Gradiscke, economic consultant to the Jewish Agency who has just completed a visit to this country. He said that although an Israel-Turkish trade agreement was not likely to be signed for a while, “commercial relations between the two countries will be expanded largely through the efforts of private business groups.”
Mr. Gradiscke, who is also an American business man, revealed that he was successful in his efforts to encourage local business firms to trade with Israel commercial groups. Jewish-owned export and import companies are expected to play an important role in developing trade between the new state and Turkey, Mr. Gradiscke added.
