Seventeen Jews were injured in anti-Semitic disturbances following an anti-pogrom demonstration staged at Rathaus under the patronage of the former government minister Waber Frak. Street care were derailed, and several Jews beaten, stabbed and driven from the city. Ninety-five rioters were arrested.

The meeting itself to protest the Jew-baiting was undisturbed owing to the presence of a thousand policemen. The hostile demonstration was staged by the anti-Semitic “Hackenkreutzler”.
