Protests that not only are ordinary Jewish war veterans barred from membership in the Ex-Servicemen’s Union but even those Jewish ex-servicemen who earned decorations for bravery under fire are excluded were made today by the Jewish deputy, M. Fabian, before a parliamentary commission investigating the matter.
Recalling the names of such Jewish war heroes as General Zoeld, Colonel Bleyer and M. Stella, who were honored by Hungary for war-services, Deputy Fabian complained that their applications for membership in the Ex-Servicemen’s Union have been rejected.
