The subsidy extended by the Prussian Government to synagogues of poor congregations was omitted this year from the budget although the subsidy to churches of poor Christian congregations was retained.
As a result of Jewhis suspension, many congregations in Prussia are unable to keep up their synagogues.
The Union of Jewish Communities in Germany has submitted a demand to the Government to restore the subsidy. It is expected that the question will be taken up in Parliament during the next budget discussion.
