A conference is to be held here by the newly constituted Eastern Division of the Canadian Jewish Congress on Oct. 22 to consider means of combatting the rapid growth of an anti-Semitic movement in Quebec.
A joint committee consisting of members of the Congress and the Canadian Jewish Congress has been authorized to marshal the forces of Canadian Jewry and make the conference a representative one.
At a recent meeting the Congress committee listened to reports on the anti-Semitic movement in Canada. The question of an anti-German boycott was considered and will be brought up at the conference. Announcement was made that sub-committees of the Congress have been organized in Halifax, Sydney, St. John and other cities.
