The subsidy of $125,000 granted to the Mount Sinai Sanatorium for the new building, has been increased by the Provincial Government by an addition sum of $25,000, making a total grant of $150,000. The ground for the new building was broken recently. Louis Salomon is the president of the Mount Sinai Sanatorium, which is under the direction of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of Montreal.
The sanatorium will be non-sectaian, and will be equipped with an up-to-date operating room and complete X-Ray department. The new building will be erected at an estimated cost of $250,000, and will accommodate one hundred patients.
