Queen Marie interrupted her vacation for an hour to lend an ear to the complaints and needs of the Orthodox Jewish community in Transylvania, when she received a delegation of Transylvanian rabbis and Orthodox leaders at the resort, Szovota, where she is staying.
The delegation, which consisted of Chief Rabbi Ullmann, Rabbi Szofer and Joseph Freund, appealed to Queen Marie to support the demand of the Orthodox Jewish community that pupils of the secondary schools be excused from attending school on Saturday. The Queen promised to energetically support this demand.
