Quotas for 35 cities in the United Palestine Appeal in the Seaboard region were adopted at a conference opened here Sunday at the Richmond Hotel. Five hundred delegates were present. The conference was addressed by Mr. Morris Rothenberg and Rabbi Wolf Gold.

FEDERATION OF UKRAINIAN JEWS HOLDS CONVENTION

The annual convention of the Federation of Ukrainian Jews was held Sunday at Pythian Temple. One hundred delegates representing 76 societies attended the meeting. It was opened by Mr. Irving Rosenzweig. The report for the year was submitted by Dr. A. Coralnik, president of the Federation.

An extensive program for the forthcoming year’s work was adopted, including a proposal to bring about a Federation of all of the Jewish landsmanschaft Societies of New York City. This body, according to the plan, is to be the spokesman of those American Jews of East European origin.

The convention was addressed by Dr. Heinrich Sliosberg, who spoke on present day conditions in Ukrainia, Joseph Barondess. Benjamin Winter, Abraham Goldberg and others. Dr. A. Coralnik was reelected president and Joseph Barondess, honorary president.

City Attorney William D. Saltiel of Chcago has been named a member of the executive council of Mayor William Hale Thompson’s America First Foundation. He is the only Jew on the board.
