Rabbi Alexander S. Rosenberg, orthodox rabbi and communal leader, will leave for Europe shortly as a representative of the Joint Distribution Committee, it was announced today by Dr. Joseph C. Hyman, executive vice-chairman of the J.D.C.
The first rabbi to be sent into Germany by the J.D.C., Rabbi Rosenberg will look after the spiritual needs and welfare of Jews living in former German concentration camps, and will also help organize Jewish life in the liberated countries. He will work directly in the camps in conjunction with ten relief teams sent in by the J.D.C. Rabbi Rosenberg will also aid in the distribution of religious and ritual articles sent overseas by the J.D.C.
