Rabbi Samuel M. Blumenfield dean of the College of Jewish Studies in Chicago has been unanimously confirmed by the National Executive of the Zionist Organization of America as head of its newly-created Department of Youth and Education, President Edmund I. Kaufmann announced today.
Kaufmann stated that Rabbi Blumenfield will have supervision of all youth activities of the ZOA including those of the three youth organizations subsidized by it. These are: Young Judaea; Masada and Avukah with a combined membership of some 40 000 girls and boys ranging in age from 12 to 25. The Department will remain in New York for the present, although constant contact will be maintained with the Zionist headquarters, which is being removed to Washington.
