Rabbi Ephraim Epstein, founder of the Hebrew Theological College, a predecessor of the Jewish University of America in Skoe, a Chicago suburb, died here Friday at the age of 83.
Rabbi Epstein helped to organize the Orthodox Zionist movement in this country. He was also a founder of the Federated Jewish Charities here, which later combined with the United Jewish Charities to become the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago.
