Rabbi Abraham Goldberger, for thirty-five years rabbi of the Congregation Ahavath Jeshurun, New York, died Friday night in Brooklyn. Born in Hungary ninety years ago, he came to this country in 1891. Rabbi Goldberger retired in 1924. Five daughters and three sons, one of whom is Rabbi Leo Goldberger of the Congregation Chevra Bechurin Anshe Ungarn, New York, survive him. Two grandsons are rabbis, Rabbi Haiba Goldberger of San Francisco and Rabbi Henry R. Goldberger of New Kensington, Pa.
The annual convention of the Louisiana Federation of Temple Sisterhoods opened in Shreveport, La., April 3. Rabbi Emil Leipziger and Mrs. Louis Abramson, honorary state president, addressed the sessions which continued through Friday. Mrs. Jonas Selig of Monroe, La., presided.
