Rabbi Morris A. Gutstein of the Touro Synagogue here addressed the annual meeting of the Newport Historical Society on “The Touro Family in America.” He was the third rabbi to read a paper before the society since its inception.

Rabbi Gutstein’s talk included discussion of all the Touros in the West Indies and South and North Americas. He dwelt particularly on the story of the Rev. Isaac Touro and his son, Judah, the philanthropist.

The Newport Historical Society will issue Rabbi Gutstein’s paper in book form.
