At the last meeting of the executive council of the United Synagogue of America, Rabbi H. H. Rubenovitz, for twenty years spiritual leader of the Temple Mishkan Tefila, Roxbury, was honored by being elected director of the United Synagogue for life in recognition of his services to the cause of Conservative Judaism.
When the United Synagogue was first organized in 1913, Rabbi Rubenovitz was a member of the organization committee, and has served as director from its inception. He has been instrumental in the establishment of Conservative congregations throughout New England, and from his pulpit has expounded the theory and practice of Conservative Judaism for the past twenty years.
