Rabbi Kossovsky, Famed Talmudic Scholar, Dies in Israel; Was 87

Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Nissim, Government officials and noted scholars were among the thousands who attended funeral services today for Rabbi Yehoshua Haim Kossovsky, famed Talmudic scholar and author of concordances of the Mishna and Tosefta in use in yeshivas throughout the world. Rabbi Kossovsky died here last night at the age of 87.

Rabbi Kossovsky was born in Jerusalem. He was a recipient of the Israel Prize for his work on concordances. In messages of condolence to Rabbi Kossovsky’s family. President Izhak Ben-Zvi and Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion paid tribute to the late scholar’s monumental works.
