A. L. Gartenhaus, known as the Prochnicker-Mikolaiever Rabbi, was yesterday making last-minute arrangements for his return to Europe. On Friday he will sail aboard the Holland-America liner Statendam. He has just been appointed supervisor of the kosher kitchen of that line. Rabbi Gartenhaus was honored at a farewell banquet Monday night when 300 rabbis gathered at the Yeshiva Rabainu Shloma Kluger, 276 East Houston Street. Judge Benjamin Greenspan acted as toastmaster.
