Rabbi Samuel Halevi Baron has resigned as Rabbi of Temple Israel in order to assume the posts of Rabbi of Congregation Beth Israel, in Austin, Texas, and director of the University of Texas Hillel Foundation. He will begin his new dutites September 1.
Rabbi Baron was with Temple Israel for three years. During the last two he also acted as director of the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation at West Virginia University, Morgantown, W. Va.
He will be succeeded by Rabbi Henry E. Kagan, formerly of Johnstown, Pa.
