The election of Rabbi Solomon Reichman as publisher of the Jewish Morning Journal, New York Yiddish daily, was announced here today following a meeting of the paper’s board of directors. Rabbi Reichman, prominent religious and civic leader in this city, succeeds Rabbi Bernard Bergman, who was named editor-in-chief. D.L. Meckler will continue to serve as editor.
Rabbi Reichman, who is at present associate chairman of the administrative committee of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the U.S. and Canada, has been active for many years in the programs of the United Jewish Appeal, National Jewish Welfare Board, American Jewish Congress and Mizrachi Organization of America.
