The conviction that the World Zionist Congress will be held in the United States, and not in Switzerland, as decided by the Zionist General Council, was expressed last night by Dr. Stephen S. Wise, president of the Zionist Organization of America.
Addressing a rally at the Hotel Pennsylvania which marked the launching of a campaign for sale of 500,000 “shekolim,” in this country, Dr. Wise said:
“The next Zionist Congress will not be held in Switzerland. That was a mistake. The next Zionist Congress will be held in the United States.” He added that he was writing to Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the World Zionist Organization, asking that the Congress be held here and would go to London if necessary to press the point.
