More than 300 Conservative synagogues throughout the United States and Canada will commemorate this week-end the 50th anniversary of the Rabbinical Assembly of America. Special jubilee services will be held in all the cities.
President Truman in a message to the Jubilee Committee emphasized that the members of the Rabbinical Assembly “have served well their religion and their people” as spiritual leaders and as chaplains in the U.S. armed services. The Rabbinical Assembly was founded 50 years ago in Philadelphia by 11 graduates of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. It now numbers more than 450 members.
