The Rabbinical Alliance of America, an Orthodox rabrinic group, sent an appeal to President Eisenhower today urging that the American Government permit free immigration into this country for Jews from Eastern Europe “should emigration to Israel become impossible.”

The appeal, adopted at the alliance’s mid-winter conference here, said that while the present Jewish emigration from Rumania is voluntary in character, and not the result of revolt as in the case of the Hungarian emigration, the fact is that these Jews are “fleeing” from servitude.
