Rabbi Israel Goldstein, spiritual leader of the Congregation B’nai Jeshurin for 42 years, and American Zionist leader, is retiring to settle in Israel, with Mrs. Goldstein, a former president of Pioneer Women, it was announced here today by Charles H. Silver, president of the congregation.
Rabbi Goldstein has headed the American Jewish Congress, the Zionist Organization of America, the Synagogue Council of America, the World Confederation of General Zionists, the Jewish Conciliation Board of America and many other organizations. He is a leader in the Israel bond campaign and a member of the executive of the Jewish Agency for Israel. He and Mrs. Goldstein will leave at the end of this year to settle in Jerusalem.
