Premier Yitzhak Rabin, in one of his first acts after assuming the leadership of the government of Israel, sent a cable to the Israel Bond Organization calling upon its leaders to come to Israel to meet with him on the country’s financial and economic problems.
Rabin emphasized that he regarded it as “essential that definite action be taken immediately to enhance the program of the Israel Bond Organization whose yeoman work has played such a big role in the country’s development for almost a quarter of a century.” He added that the forthcoming meeting in Israel with the Bond leaders “would serve to reaffirm solidarity with us as well as expand urgently needed economic aid from world Jewry in the coming months.”
Plans for the campaign summit session in Israel were discussed at a special meeting of the National Campaign Cabinet yesterday at the New York Hilton Hotel at which Sam Rothberg, general chairman and Michael Arnon, president and chief executive officer of the Israel Bond Organization, were the principal speakers.
