Premier Yitzhak Rabin warned today that settlers of the north must intensify their vigilance in the face of the terrorists’ activities. The Premier visited townships, moshavim and kibbutzim and army units along the northern borders and on Har Dov, on the western slopes of Mt. Hermon.
Rabin also visited Kiryat Shemona where he promised that governmental departments would assist the township in the fields of security, industrialization and in other social and economic affairs. At Maalot Rabin said that though plans for development have been prepared, it will take some time to carry them out. At Misgav Am the Premier said that the settlers in the north must rearrange their lives, especially in the security field, as there are no signs that Lebanon is willing to halt the terrorists’ activities from her territory and “we have to prepare ourselves that the present situation of attempts to carry out acts of terror will continue for some time.”
