Racist and anti-Semitic attacks in France last year were the worst in almost a decade, a leading human rights organization said. In its annual report, presented Thursday to French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin, the National Consultative Commission for Human Rights said 313 violent racist acts had been recorded in 2002, up from just 71 in 2001.
