Argentine governmental personalities and Jewish leaders from Buenos Aires as well as Entre Rios Province today participated in a gala ceremony marking the naming of a railway station near Basavilbaso for the late Argentine Jewish poet Alberto Gerchunoff.

An army band played and mounted Jewish colonists put on a gaucho display in honor of the occasion. Government officials, including officials of the Ministry of Transport and the provincial Education Ministry addressed the celebration, declaring that there is no racial discrimination in this country. Basavilbaso is the center of a large Jewish colonization movement in Argentina.
