A resolution calling for immediate creation of a Jewish army in Palestine, with registration for enlistment in the United States consistent with American laws, was adopted last night at a rally arranged by the American Friends of a Jewish Palestine at Manhattan Center. The meeting, attended by about 3,000 persons was addressed by Pierre van Paassen, who said “there is no more important work in Zionism today than the effort to raise a Jewish army.” Col. J.H. Patterson, commander of the Jewish Legion in the last war, spoke from Los Angeles by telephone. Rep. John D. Dingell of Michigan also spoke.
