Funeral services were held Sunday for Ralph Zimmerman. 51, of Woodland Hills, who died last Thursday at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital. Mr. Zimmerman, who was campaign director of the Jewish Federation-Council of Greater Los Angeles, had been affiliated with the Welfare Fund here since 1968. A native of Pittsburgh, Mr. Zimmerman had more than 25 years experience in Jewish fund-raising and casework services.
In Pittsburgh, he had served as a member of the staff of the United Jewish Federation drive; associate director of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, and placement director of the United Vocational and Employment Service. He had also served as assistant campaign director of the Combined Jewish Philanthropies in Boston, and as field representative of United HIAS in Rio de Janeiro. He was a graduate of Duquesne University, and received an MA in sociology from the University of Pittsburgh. His family asked that contributions in his memory be made to the Los Angeles United Jewish Welfare Fund and the American Cancer Society.
