Captain Mueller von Heusen, publisher of the notorious “Protocols”, has consented to publish a declaration that his charge that the frieze on the Rathenau villa representing decapitated monarchs was deliberately placed there to symbolize the overthrow of monarchism, was unfounded.
Mueller is being sued for libel by Mme. Emil Ratnenau and it is up to her to withdraw the persecution. The case has been adjourned until Mme. Rathenau’s wishes in the matter are consulted.
What caused Mueller to withdraw the charge is that Professor Naager, architect of the house of Emil Rathenau, Father of the assassinated Walter Rathenau, stated the frieze on the house is not Rathenau’s invention but was borrowed from a building in Venice.
Capt. Mueller had made much of this offensive frieze, exclaiming pathetically during his trial, “How often the unsuspecting Kaiser entered this house !”.
