Hundreds of school children gathered in the Jerusalem Forest this week to participate in the dedication of the Jewish National Fund’s active recreation area. The new park was set up in cooperation with the Education Ministry’s Sport Authority. It is one of eight such parks throughout the country. The recreation area bears the name of “Ontario Place,” since it is financed by the JNF of Ontario, Canada. The funds for the project were raised at a recent “Negev Dinner” in Canada in honor of Ontario Premier William Davis. The pine trees in the recreation area were planted over 20 years ago by the JNF.
