Reduce Appropriations for Educational Work

Members of the Board of Managers of the Department of Synaogue and School Extension of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, in their semi-annual meeting here, recommended a re###uced appropriation of $82,840 for its work for the coming year, November 1, 1933 through October 31, 1934, subject to the approval of the Executive Board of the Union which is to meet next month.

The following were elected as member of the Commission on Jewish Education:

Rabbi Barnett R. Brickner, Cleveland; Dr. Edward N. Calisch, Richmond; Dr. Samuel H. Goldenson, Pittsburgh; Dr. G##rson B. Levi, Chicago; Dr. Julian M##rgenstern, Cincinnati; Dr. David Philipson, Cincinnati; Dr. William Ro##enau, Baltimore; Dr. Abba H. Silver, Cleveland; Dr. Abram Simon, Washington; Rabbi Louis Wolsey, Philadelphia, and Rabbi George Zepi## Cincinnati, Director of the Department of Synagogue and School Extension.

Dr. Israel Bettan, Cincinnati, and Dr. Leo M. Franklin, Detroit, were reelected members of the Tract Commission.

Julius W. Freiberg and Jacob W. Mack, both of Cincinnati, were reelected Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively, of the Board of Managers of the Department.
