For the first time since 1868, a congress of Hungarian Reform Jews has been convened here to consider conditions of Hungarian Jewry.
The congress opened today with the Zionists seeking proportional representation. Zionist delegates demanded adoption of resolutions to promote Jewish work in Palestine. A number of non-Zionist delegates protested on the ground that the congress was convoked for the sole purpose of dealing with internal problems of Hungarian Jewish life.
