Leaders of the Reform movement from all parts of the country last night honored Dr. Nelson Glueck, president of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion on his 30th anniversary in the rabbinate.
A check for $300,000 was handed Dr. Glueck for the maintenance and expansion of HUC-JIR. The funds were contributed by Reform Jews nationally. The HUC-JIR alumni association, which sponsored the banquet honoring Dr. Glueck, set up a fund in Dr. Glueck’s name for the support of a scholarly project by him.
