Formal opening of the 1954-55 Combined Campaign for American Reform Judaism took place here this week-end. The drive, which provides the annual maintenance needs of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations and the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, will seek $2,340,000, the minimum sum required by the institutions to maintain their present programs. Dr. Samuel S. Hollender, of Chicago, was named general chairman of the campaign which will continue until June 30, 1955.
