The Central Conference of American Rabbis, at a meeting of its executive committee, today adopted a resolution endorsing the National Community Relations. Advisory Council and expressing regret at the withdrawal of the American Jewish Committee and the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith from the N.C.R.A.C., which coordinates the activities of Jewish groups engaged in combatting anti-Semitism in the United States.
“We endorse the majority decision of the N.C.R.A.C. not to be diverted from its objective of effectively mobilizing the strength of the American Jewish community.” the resolution adopted by the central organ of Reform rabbis said. “We urge the A.D.L. and the A.J.C. who have rendered meritorious service to American Jewry for so many years, to return to the N.C.R.A.C. so that the interest of the entire community may be protected and so that we may proceed with undivided vigor to the compelling labor of safeguarding Jewish rights and more fully realizing the democratic potential of our country.”
