Construction of a camp accommodating 2,000 persons, apparently designed to house illegal Jewish immigrants, was begun today on the seashore at Athlit, south of Haifa. The camp is being built with British Government funds and can be transformed into a military camp in an emergency. A similar project is planned for Sarafend, southeast of Jaffa.
