The board of elections of Hamilton County, Ohio, which includes Cincinnati, has decided against holding country-wide registration on September 24, the day on which Yom Kippur falls this year, or on a Saturday, following a protest by the local Jewish Community Relations Committee.
The board had first proposed September 24 and later September 20, a Saturday. Both dates were turned down when Ohio State Secretary Ted Brown broke a 2-2 tie on the board of elections.
