The charge that German steamship offices in America are deliberately including in their sailing lists names of prominent Jews as passengers in order to create the impression that important personalities are still using their vessels was made yesterday by the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League in a statement to the Jewish Daily Bulletin in connection with a report released by one of the German lines that James P. Warburg, banker, was to sail Friday on the North German Lloyd liner Europa.
“We are apprised that this report is untrue and that Mr. and Mrs. Warburg are sailing on the Aquitania,” the statement of the Anti-Nazi League says. “Several papers also carried an announcement that Kay Francis was to sail on the Europa. We are informed by the Warner Brothers that this report is without foundation in fact.
