Eight hundred thousand to a million persons residing in Germany proper are Jews under the terms of the Nuremberg race and citizenship laws, according to a statement by the National Socialist Office for Racial Policy. Of these, the statement declares, at least 450,000 are full Jews.
(According to recent figures from official Jewish sources, the Jewish population of Germany now totals about 360,000, some 130,000 having emigrated since advent of the Nazi regime five years ago.)
The statement points out that the forthcoming census, scheduled for next Spring, which is to be based largely on racial grounds, will show additional thousands coming under the Nuremberg laws.
