Two categories of “Jews” were exempt by special ordinance today from the recent ruling forcing all German Jews to turn in their precious gems, pearls and jewelry. For technical reasons, the deadline set for this conversion was postponed until March 31. According to the new ordinance members of a mixed marriage will be exempt if their children are not considered Jewish. A childless Jewish wife of an “Aryan” also will be permitted to keep her valuables.
