The Nazi government today started the withdrawal of citizenship from non-Aryans naturalized after the war.
Hitherto the withdrawal of naturalization was applied to Jews only. Today sixteen non-Jews who were not pure “Aryans” also had their citizenship cancelled on the ground that they obtained it after the war.
The cancellation of citizenship of non-Jews who are considered of Jewish descent, started in Berlin but will be spread systematically throughout the country. An announcement from Mannheim today reports that in the nearby city of Ludwigshafen, the authorities started an investigation into the records of all non-Jews who are considered non-Aryans, in order to establish when they obtained their naturalization.
SEEK MIGRATION ADVICE
More than 100,000 Jews in Germany have applied for advice and information as to how to leave the country, it was announced here at a meeting of the administrative committee of the Hilsverein for German Jews. The meeting was presided over by Max M. Warburg.
Jews from Germany have emigrated during the last two years to about thirty countries, it was reported at the meeting.
Many emigrants have succeeded, after a comparatively short time, in establishing themselves in the new lands and are now already in a position to bring over their relatives to join them.
More than 11,000 Jews were enabled to emigrate from Germany by the financial assistance of the Hilfsverein, it was reported at the meeting.
