German-Jewish refugee children definitely will not be included in the Dominions evacuation scheme, the House of Commons was told today by Geoffrey E. Shakespeare, weden. Secretary for the domimions.
Replying to a question by Labor M.P. Josiah Wedgwood on whether children of German Jews now in England would benefit by the plan, Shakespeare said: “No. The scheme only applies to the children of Allied refugees.” Asked why, Shakespeare replied: “The scheme was agreed upon in harmony with the wishes of the Dominion governments.”
