Reich Warns Jews Not to Return

The German Consulate in Palestine today officially advised Palestine Jews who are in possession of German passports not to return to Germany if they do not wish to be arrested and put in a concentration camp.

“German ews returning from Palestine to Germany, even for a short visit, are put in camps until it is cleared up whether they intend to remain permanently in Germany,” the official communique of the German Consulate reads.

ARREST BETHLEHEM MAYOR

Issa Bendak, Mayor of Bethlehem, who is also editor and publisher of an anti-Jewish publication, was arrested today in connection with a bribe which he allegedly accepted in his capacity as Mayor.

The Palestine trade delegation which proceeded to Syria a few days ago to negotiate new trade agreements, returned from Beirut today after preliminary discussions with the Syrian authorities.

Dr. Hussein Khalidi, Mayor of Jerusalem, has started a movement for the establishment of a new Arab party, according to reports in the Arab press today. A preliminary meeting for the establishment of this party was held in the home of one of the leading Arabs in Jaffa.

The High Commissioner of Palestine today received a delegation of Jewish and Arab railway workers and assured them they would receive a further small increase in wages. He also promised to introduce a vacation system for railway workers.
