The release from prison of Oberlieutenant Brandt, sentence three years ago to a four year imprisonment term for the murder of Walter Ratheman. German Jewish statesman, was demanded in the Reichstag Friday during the debate on the budget of the Ministry of Justice.

In raising this demand, Deputy Frick, member of the Hitlerist group, attacked the memory of the late German Jewish statesman. This attack called forth a great tumult. Deputy Graef, member of the Deutschnazionale party and vice-speaker of the House, was in the chair. He took no measure to secure order.

An anti-Semitic demonstration was arranged yesterday by the National Socialists on the occasion of ex-Kaiser Wilhelm’s birthday. The demonstration ended in riots, during which a German newspaperman, mistaken for a Jew, and fifteen others were beaten and thrown out of the hall.
